Ashes to Ashes ~ Shaz Granger (2 of 2)

And here be the second set! This is from the end of S3E7, in Luigi’s and then after (when Gene and Alex are otherwise occupied … erm). There was an Italian restaurant that would have been grand for this, but apparently it’s closed.

I was more than a little pleased to be told that one of the show’s creators likes and approves of these photos, and apparently they’re eventually going along to Ms. Montserrat Lombard herself. No pressure — I enjoyed doing these costumes, but she will always corner the market on adorable.

Again, if you want to see lots more, go to Megan’s Flickr — these are just my personal bests.

Basic infos — this outfit was primarily bought and adapted. I painted the patterns on the bracelets, and the ‘Last Exit’ logo on the shirt was hand-painted, too. Everything else was bought as-is, same wig from the previous costume.

Megan’s now on me to do the wedding dress — I just don’t know — I could never match that.

Hey, though! Come see me at RavenCon this weekend for fun! I’ll have some costumes, but I’ll also be doing a few panels, too. I’m hoping to finish putting lining and buttonholes in my latest costume to have it ready, so look forward to that.

Ashes to Ashes ~ Shaz Granger (1 of 2)

It’s been a while since Megan and I have had a chance to do a photo shoot together, but we managed two last time I went to visit. And as always, she has done a lovely job.

Both shoots are costumes belonging to Shaz Granger of Ashes to Ashes  (which we all know already that I adore): specifically, two outfits from late in third series. I’m dividing these up into two entries because there are quite a few. First ones are from Series 3 episode 5, this mad lovely teal and black ensemble she wore to a charity event. I had some photos done of this one before … but these just go above and beyond anything yet.

If you’d like to see the full set of both shoots, you can go to Megan’s Flickr — this here is just a set of my favourites. Costume by me, makeup by her.

Incidentally, these were taken in and around the Penny Lane Pub in Richmond. The people there are super nice and the food is also delicious.

Next set is a much simpler costume, but one I’m also rather pleased with. Sadly, the locals weren’t as kindly concerning our choice of location.

Katsucon ~ GaoGaiGar FINAL

Hey, remember that weird orange dress I did at Nekocon? It’s back and it still looks weird!

Just as a reminder, this is Mikoto’s picnic dress from GaoGaiGar FINAL (albeit worn for only a couple minutes). I look tired as all get-out in these pictures, probably because I was. Thanks, as ever, to Paul Karpey for taking the time to take these!

Next up, I have two more shoots I did outside a con with a friend’s help. I am so pleased with those and I can’t wait to share them, but they may have to be divided up across two entries.

Remember that I will be at RavenCon this weekend doing some panels on art and cosplay. Come see me if you can!

Katsucon 2014 ~ Suite Suite Purikyua

More photos are rolling in! Star Angel and I got all PreCure again (expect this to keep happening, I think). This time, we did Hibiki and Kanade from Suite PreCure once more — in particular, from a very cute Hallowe’en calendar picture.

Though I forgot all the scrunchies I needed for mine, I think we turned out pretty well. Thanks as always to Paul Karpey for the great photos.

Still more photos to come … just got in the last set of pics from Katsu, and I’ve gone and done two photoshoots in a day elsewhere. Oh, and I’m going to a con soon. And finishing another costume for it. Busy busy.

Katsucon ~ The Night of the Doctors

Remember that massive Doctor Who meet-up from Katsu? Well, that wasn’t the start of it. Friday night I ran into three other Doctors, and we had a heck of a great time doing photos and things. So here’s self (8), Bryan (War), Alex (10), and Connor (11) doing the things, photos courtesy (as always) of Paul Karpey.

Katsucon ~ The Almost Doctor

So whilst at the Doctor Who meet-up, I thought it’d be a little cute to find two Eleventh Doctors with different-coloured boots — a la the ganger storyline from ‘The Rebel Flesh’/’The Almost People.’ Primarily, I thought it’d be a bit of a cool thing to send to Matthew Graham, to show him the whole cosplay thing in action with something he’d written. Fortunately, I found two guys who, while not prepared at the moment, promised to have everything exactly right the next day. (Apparently this had been a plan of theirs at some point anyway.)

So thanks ever so much to Justin and Evan for being super good sports about this. They have many other fine costumes as well, some of which you can see linked in the Doctor Who meet-up album from the previous entry.

Katsucon 2014 ~ Doctor Who Gathering

So I was whomping around in my Eighth Doctor costume on Friday and ran into a really kickin’ 10th and War Doctor.

Here's me with said War Doctor.

Here’s me with said War Doctor.

I was informed that there had been a Doctor Who meet-up that day, and that there would be another the following day. We (and an 11th Doctor) ended up doing a big ol’ shoot with Paul Karpey, which I will share with you when he starts putting out pics. I heard from another gentleman that he would have an Eighth Doctor on hand the next day … which meant that I could swap out for another costume without messing up the Doctor representation.

I went for one of my new ones: Gallifreyan Clara from ‘Name of the Doctor.’

What follows is a mix of photos taken by myself and one Sarah McElroy. Visit her Facebook album for the full set, as the only ones I’ve lifted from her are ones with me in them (and thus ones I couldn’t have taken).

Phew. And that’s only a handful of them. Visit that image gallery for tons and tons and tons more. Seriously. The only main series Doctor not represented was Six, and I only know two people who’ve ever willingly made that coat anyway.

Thanks to my fellow Friday night Doctors for cluing me in on this, and to everyone else who was super awesome about hanging out with me there. There are still more Who shenanigans to come, so hang in there.

And no, seriously, I promise. There will be ANIME costumes from this ANIME con before long. Probably.
