RavenCon 2013 ~ Rovin’ Con

This is one of the cons where I tend not to have a table, though that may be changing next year.  It’s also one of the cons where I tend to perform with Luna-C.  However, since they’re switching out the entertainment for a couple of years, the most I had on my plate were a couple of panels.

As always, want to thank the RavenCon staff for inviting me to take part.

Now, because I didn’t have a table, I didn’t have costumes going by every few seconds.  I also had to miss the masquerade because … well … food.  So I fear photos are a bit scant this year, but the ones I did find were very neat.

I also made sure to make a stop-off at the Capclave party.  If you’re not familiar with them, they are a way-cool literary sci-fi convention (I’ve been told — never been but I’d like to go) and they throw way-cool parties.  Not only did they mix it up with a 1984/Brave New World theme, they also (as always) had piles and piles of free books looking for new homes.  One of my favourite places to drop in when I see them at a con.

Given a bit of time, as I’m doing some writing for other projects, I will add a few photos of my own new (for the most part) costumes.  Remember, if you see yourself in any of these photos, steal ‘em for your own use.  If you have a link you’d like me to post here, let me know and I’ll do so!

Katsucon Photoshoot ~ Giant Ace Attorney Group!

And finally, at last, I get enough breathing room to put up these photos I’ve been dying to share — the massive Ace Attorney photoshoot from Saturday afternoon of Katsucon!  I lost track of how many of us ended up there, but it was a great time and a lot of great photos.  I had so much fun meeting all of you.

At my final count, we had … three Phoenixes of various eras, three Mayas, two Gumshoes, a Mia, a Diego, a Maggey, and an Edgeworth.  I don’t think I’ve missed any out … in other words, quite a group.

The photos are courtesy of both Paul Karpey and Veronica Lamarra.  If you see yourself in this group, let me know!  You can check out one of the Gumshoes here on Tumblr, and Linh’s still where she’s always been.

Also, thanks as always to Yunmao for being the one to talk me into cosplaying Edgeworth.  As I’ve said before, this is not one I would ever have thought of doing myself.

Katsucon Photoshoot ~ Smile PreCure!

Anyone who’s followed me for long enough knows by now that I’m a PreCure fan to all sorts of extremes.  To that end, I find myself making costumes from the various series on a semi-regular basis.  For Katsucon this year, I decided I wanted Cure March from Smile PreCure! on hand.  My friend Star Angel was going to have Cure Sunny ready, but real life intervened and our pair-up will have to wait ’til a later con.  (Though what I saw so far looks awfully good.)

I know I said I was going to put up Ace Attorney photos next, but there are about six dozen of those to go through and upload, and there are only a few of March.  So next time, I promise.  But for now, again courtesy of Paul Karpey, here are some PreCure pics.

Katsucon Photoshoot ~ Madoka☆Magica

When I first saw Madoka Magica, it was just after my third surgery and I was on some heavy Percocet.  But even then, I could see what a fantastic show it was and I fell in love with the main character.  There was just one problem — I’m not a big fan of pink.  However, in Madoka’s case, she’s such a badass that I’m willing to make an exception.

Sadly, I couldn’t get the gloves done properly in time, so they’re missing the ‘petals,’ but I’m a bit pleased with how the rest turned out.  Again, thanks to Paul Karpey for taking the time to take some awesome photos, and for sharing them as quickly as he does.

And now …

Katsucon Photoshoot ~ Ace Attorney 3

I finally had an excuse to bring out the Dahlia Hawthorne costume again — at a con, and for longer than just a few minutes onstage.  I was intending to bring it to the Ace Attorney gathering planned for Saturday afternoon, but then my friend Linh said she had something else she was bringing along … and the opportunity presented itself.

These guys!

Unfortunately, my wig was a mess because it needed rebraiding and got a little shook up on the car ride up, so you can see plenty of my lovely brown (slightly greying) hair out from under the wig.  Nonetheless, it was well fun, and Veronica did a great job of getting pics of us down by the fountain at the Gaylord.  Thus — Feenie and Dollie(??).

Katsucon 19 ~ Every cosplayer, get in here.

Wow, now that was a busy weekend.

I was very pleased to see so many people at Katsucon this year, despite my getting in unexpectedly late Friday and spending most of my time at my table.  Of course, as we all know, me being at my table gives me more time to get photos of cosplayers!

Now, I personally took part in four separate photoshoots, but those are going to have to wait … partly because the pictures are still trickling in, but mostly because I know you guys want your own photos ASAP.  Thus, here’s at least a good portion of what I encountered this past weekend.  Remember, if you see yourself, grab your photo — and if you’d like a link back, leave your URL in the comments!

As always, I was visited by megucas …

MarsCon 2013 ~ Bringing the Luna-C

Well, our Saturday afternoon show went great — especially great, I thought — and we had a really enthusiastic audience.  But we’ve always got a good crowd for MarsCon, and it’s fun to perform for them every year.

As before, Luna-C pics do not come from yours truly, as I’m busy onstage.  This time they are courtesy of the lovely Barb Fischer.  Thanks as always for womanning the camera.
